<div style="text-align: justify;">The <a href="http://www.webupd8.org/2013/05/intel-linux-graphics-installer.html">Intel Linux Graphics Installer</a> only <a href="https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads/2013/intelr-linux-graphics-installer-version-1.0.1">supports</a> Ubuntu 13.04* and 12.10 (and Fedora), and even though the drivers should work on other Ubuntu-based Linux distributions like Linux Mint, the installer doesn't work and the Intel repository isn't added automatically.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: right;"><i>article updated on May 29, 2013 </i></div></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">But <b>you can still upgrade the drivers to the latest version available in the Intel repository that comes with the Intel Linux Graphics Installer, even if you use an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution such as Linux Mint, by manually adding the repository. When upgrading the packages, you must copy the package names to some text file, then disable the repository via Software Sources (or delete the .list file from <i>/etc/apt/soures.list.d/</i>), run "sudo apt-get update" and then downgrade the packages you've saved to the text file using: "sudo apt-get install package1/raring package2/raring" and so on (for each package that was upgraded; replace "raring" with "quantal" if you're using an Ubuntu 12.10 based Linux distribution). How To Get A Global Menu In MATE Desktop

Nemo: The Linux Mint Team Forks Nautilus

And this, it seems, wasn't what the Linux Mint developers want for their users, so they've decided to fork Nautilus 3.4.x, which still has these features.</div><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WTljTXWqMX4/UBu51K881tI/AAAAAAAAJYE/Nr1Np9uZkSY/s1600/nemo-file-manager.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="nemo file manager linux mint" border="0" height="215" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WTljTXWqMX4/UBu51K881tI/AAAAAAAAJYE/Nr1Np9uZkSY/s320/nemo-file-manager.png" title="nemo file manager linux mint" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;">For now, there are only a couple of visible changes between Nautilus 3.4.2 and Nemo:</div><ul><li>the location entry is visible by default, but it doesn't replace the breadcrumbs - it's displayed under the breadcrumb, and the user can easily show/hide it from the View menu or by using the CTRL + L keyboard shortcut.</li><li>some minor changes have been made to the look and feel - for instance, the sidebar uses a white background</li></ul><br /><div style="text-align: justify;">On the Nemo todo list are various fixes, make it easier for the user to define mime actions, improved look and feel and it's also possible for the view buttons to be re-added.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Since it seems the Mint team wants to make Nautilus more usable and prettier, I wonder why they haven't tried to port some, if not all the Nautilus elementary patches to Nautilus 3.4.x, since the goals are basically the same.
