Nautilus 3.5.4 has been uploaded to the Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal repositories today, bringing some very important changes like a new GNOME 3 style toolbar, new "gear" menu, symbolic monochrome icons for the sidebar and others.

Don't judge the looks yet, as Ambiance theme doesn't support the new Nautilus yet. Here's how it looks using Adwaita, the default GNOME 3 theme:

List view changes: new date format display, better column order, new icon size: 32 and more:
There were also some features that were removed from Nautilus, like the "Text beside icons" option for the icon view. There's also no more "Extra pane" feature, sidebar tree view, option to show the statusbar or the option to create a new file - these were removed a while back.
