Nokia Asha 501 goes official Stephen Elop of Nokia just announced the new Asha 501 with a new revamped OS in India . It is the first product in the Asha Range to have a platform  other than the mighty Symbian Platform .
 The Design is quite inspired by the Lumia Phones  . The New Asha platform is based on Smarter Phone acquisition which Nokia made a few years back .

The New interface focuses on .Swipe features with a new feature introduced as Fast Lane. Nokia Asha 501 is made of only 2 parts which make it more durable . The back of the phone is removable which sports the micro-sim slot and a micro-sd slot (which has memory expandable to 32 GB)  and the Battery .

The Phone has a quite small 3" touchscreen which  is capacitive . And a 3.2 Megapixel  camera which is not so good .The Phone OS is looking like the combination of Windows Phone OS and past MeeGo OS . The Phone Wakes when Double tapping on the Screen . There are two home screen namely fast lane and app drawer .
The Fast lane shows your past and present . Present includes your running apps . Yes there is multi-tasking support which is a good part . The Past shows you your messages and notification .

The Asha Range has been popular in the Asian Countries . Nokia has made a stupid task of excluding the 3G feature and the phone just have 2G . However there is a smart move because most of people in the Asian Countries relies on  2G internet and very few of them makes video call . There is also Wi-Fi Connectivity that is also a good part and it fulfill lack of 3G connectivity .

The Asha 501 is considered as a Social Phone with very rich  Social Features. Facebook, Foursquare, Linkedin, Twitter,Youtube and more will be available out of the box.
There is also rumors of the Dual Sim Version of the Phone .
Nokia Asha 501 is light weight at 98Grams .
